Behaviour

Behaviour at Denton
At Denton School we work to encourage the development of the qualities of respect, honesty and fairness towards others and ourselves. At the beginning of the school year, each class discusses and agrees the code of conduct that will make sure that their classroom is a safe and happy place to learn. Rewards are awarded in class for children displaying particularly good behaviour, whilst sanctions will be given, where appropriate, to pupils whose actions are affecting the learning of the other pupils in class.

Every week, children who have worked hard or behaved well in class are given certificates in our Friday 'Celebration Assembly'. Similarly, good work or behaviour can be rewarded with a visit to Mr Walsh, the headteacher,  to get one of his highly-valued special stickers!

On the playground, good behaviour will be rewarded with a raffle ticket; these go into a pot for each class and drawn out on Monday assemblies, winners choosing an item from the head teacher's prize box.

In class, children are rewarded with Dojo points as well as house points for all manner of positive behaviours.
