Communication with Parents

Communication with parents/carers

We believe that good home-school communication contributes to our pupils’ feelings of purpose and belonging at school. We have a very supportive parent body and we enjoy working with you to assist, inform and advise each other towards meeting the best interests of your child. You will be asked to sign a Home-School Agreement when your child starts our school. We have timetabled parent-pupil-teacher consultations during the Autumn and Spring terms, to share our Reading, Writing and Mathematics targets for your child and to suggest linked activities that you may share at home. During the Summer term you will receive a written report that summarises attainment over the school year.

Newsletters are sent home regularly and most recent newsletters are available on our school website, as well as being sent to you directly via 'SchoolPing', an app that is simple to download and navigate; please make sure the school office has an up-to-date email, telephone number and address so you do not miss anything. Class teachers will also send information home via SchoolPing. If you need to contact the school, please call the office or email us at office@denton.e-sussex.sch.uk.

We trust parents/carers to contact the school whenever they have any concerns regarding their children. If you have more than a brief message to pass on to your child’s class teacher it is usually best to telephone the school secretary to make a fixed appointment with the appropriate member of staff, so that your concerns or queries are given the time they deserve. More information about concerns can be found on the Complaints page of this website.
