Healthy Eating

Healthy Schools
We are very proud of our achievement of Healthy Schools Enhanced Status. This means that we have made a pledge that we will demonstrate evidence of a whole school approach to develop and promote each of the four core themes of being a Healthy School. These four themes are:

  • Personal, Social and Health Education, (PSHE), which includes sex and relationship education and drug education
  • Healthy Eating
  • Physical Activity
  • Emotional Health and Well-being, (including anti-bullying strategies)

These themes do not only relate to what is taught and learned through our curriculum but also to the emotional, physical and learning environment that the school provides.
Focusing on developing these themes will consolidate and extend the good practice already evident in our school, for example, the well-organised Play Leader scheme to encourage physical activity at playtimes; our involvement as a pilot school for the SEAL project, (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning); and our position as a “Lead Behaviour School” for East Sussex.
