Home Learning

Home learning reinforces key skills for your child - and can be great fun!

A daily dose of learning can look like this:

  • Reading: 10-15 minutes with your child
  • Writing: Keep a daily diary – a few sentences is enough, or a picture with a word or two for younger children
  • Maths: 10-15 minutes practising adding and/or times tables – see the PUPIL ZONE (Educational Websites) section of the school website for ideas.
  • Doing something creative – drawing, painting, modelling

We also highly recommend activities like cards, jigsaws, puzzles, colouring books, crafts, dressing-up and board games, all of which promote skills the children need to be good learners.

Keep a record of any home learning and bring it in to show the teachers - they will always be very impressed!
